The rain and cold have kept us a bit slow on this addition but we’ve got footers poured and are prepped for the slabs to be poured as soon as the weather is both dry and warmer. You can’t pour concrete when it’s too cold or it won’t set up correctly.

This will be the larger portion of the addition and in the photo you can see the footer for the slab and the roughed-in plumbing.
This is a smaller section getting a slab of concrete and the footer is poured for it.
Against the existing wall we’ve installed an ice and water shield.
In preparation for pouring the concrete slab we’ve built side walls for a form and filled a bottom layer with gravel for drainage.

The slab prep continues with plastic and wire mesh for added drainage and support for the concrete slab.
